"The... museum... represents an outstanding achievement in museum presentation and public education and is sure to set the standard for decades to come"
- Neil Asher Silberman, Archaeology Magazine
Mashantucket Pequot Museum
Client: Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, CT
Budget: $19,000,000
Telling the complete Pequot story from the Pequot People’s point of view was the primary goal of the tribe. The assignment included master planning, research, writing, exhibit design, sound design, diorama and environment design, media design, exhibit interior and exterior design, and collateral printed material design. Spanning more than 18,000 years of environmental and cultural history, the museum is the largest of its kind in the United States (85,000 sq. ft. of exhibits) and a leader in immersive environmental design. Particular attention was paid to historical accuracy and detail, and noted scholars from both native and non-native organizations vetted the museum content.
