Peddocks Island Interpretive Signs

Peddocks Island spans over 200 acres of dynamic terrain that was created during the last ice age, and includes three drumlins (elongated hills) connected by thin ribbons of sand. Occupied by the U.S. military from about 1900 until the end of the Second World War, the remains of Fort Andrews dominate the northern section of the island. Seasonal cottages remain is use on the middle section of the island. Design Division created an interpretive masterplan, conducted extensive research, including photo research, and developed a system of interpretive signs designed to withstand a punishing marine environment.
