Fort Trumbull State Park, CT

Client: Connecticut State Parks Division

Budget: $1,500,000

Fort Trumbull played witness to 225 years of international military and political history, including being sacked by Benedict Arnold in the Revolutionary War, and more recently as the site of significant sonar development in the Cold War-era Navy laboratory located on the site. The new state park included 15 acres of the former lab site and numerous structures from various time periods. The story of Fort Trumbull’s rich history is rigorously explored in a 7000 square-foot permanent exhibition located in the visitors center (former officers’ quarters), and on interpretive panels, exhibits and tableaus located in the fort and on the grounds.
