Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Cultural Center Client:Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma
Budget: $10,000,000
The Choctaw Nation’s long-term plan was to create a Cultural Center featuring a permanent exhibition that would tell the Choctaw story in their own words. Input from elders and stakeholders in the Nation helped in providing direction for the design. The exhibit solution was organized around four distinct landscapes: People of the Mother Mound and Shomo Takali, both located in Mississippi and Alabama; Trail of Tears, about the journey to Oklahoma; and Okla Homa, about the Nation in Oklahoma.
This project was conceived, designed, and implemented in close collaboration with Monadnock Media.
